New domain name
You can now access this site using either www.teamspecialscans.com or www.teamspecialscans.forummotion.com
Re: New domain name
Is the domain working properly? The domain was still teamspecialscans.com, when I clicked on a sub-forum. It didn't have anything after the top-level domain. When I clicked a thread the URL changed back to the original Forumotion URL. Also, the favicon doesn't appear.
But anyway, this is a nice improvement ^^

Re: New domain name
As far as I can tell the configuration on the DNS side is correct, perhaps there's something on the forum's back-end interface that needs modified for it to show the '/something/or/other' part and the favicon. I've never dealt with domain/URL forwarding before, or phpBB3 back-end settings either so I'm not really sure.

Does this help: http://help.forumotion.com/t7021-redirect-an-extern-domain-name-that-you-own-to-your-board

Re: New domain name
It probably would if I had admin privileges here. I only have DNS/Registrar admin access because I payed for the TLD, my Joomla 'SuperUser' account doesn't work here.
Re: New domain name
E-mail the instructions to Dreamingflower and she can try to do it, or ask her to make you a moderator (if that gives you enough privileges).

Re: New domain name
I realize that this thread hasn't been active in ages but I can't think of any better place to talk about the following issue:
The teamspecialscans.com domain name is expiring on 04/07/2015 and I'm likely to be scaling down on my own site's hosting due to lack of funding.
Basically what I'm trying to say that within the next 3 and a half months you'll need to either start configuring things to access the site/s without using that domain name or take over paying for it. The domain costs $13 USD per year + $0.18 USD of ICANN fees.

Re: New domain name
Or we transfer the domain name to 1&1 or Network Solutions and get it for $0.99. I think 1&1 looks more professional and they are a much larger hosting company, so I'd say we try with 1&1 first.
Should we get free SSL encryption while we're at it?

Re: New domain name
Let me put it another way: I can barely afford to keep my own domain name and hosting so you guys will have to take over funding the TeamSpecialScans domain name.
I'll do whatever I can to assist in the transfer to whoever is to be the caretaker of the domain name but I can't afford it any more.
Also, I don't remember if either of those are the one I had used but one time I transferred my domain to another registrar for a $1/year thing but when it came time to renew they were wanting to charge like $100 for a single year renewal.
On the SSL mention: SSL certificates are generally like $70/year and those "free SSL" deals are always just free for the first year then you have to pay full price.

Re: New domain name
We have enough money from donations to keep the domain name. I don't know who will be the new owner of the domain name, so we'll have to figure that out.
If nobody is willing to do it we'll just use our Forummotion and WordPress URLs. (This is why I thought it was a good idea to let Forummotion host the forums instead of us hosting it ourselves).
I understand and I appreciate the help with the transfer. DO what you have to do.
Hmm, that would make sense. I'll Google around and see if anybody mentions these sites pulling this kind of bait.
Actually, those two are the only sites that give out / will soon give out legit 100% free SSL certificates. However, it looks like it's wise to not get involved with StartSSL and just wait for Let's Encrypt to be launched.
